ICT-Air-North

I caught the Air North flight from Vancouver to Whitehorse, on April 10th, 2015.

I am up in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, at the invitation of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners; BC/Yukon Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 2499. I was warmly received by Jeff Sloychuk, and 13 candidates to challenge the ITA Inter Provincial Red Seal exam.

The scenery in Yukon is spectacular. I took the panoramic picture above of Fish Lake yesterday from the summit of Mt. McIntyre, just outside of Whitehorse.

The “Healing Totem” that was carved by the Kwanlin Dun First Nation’s Northern Cultural Expression Society’s Youth Carving Program, under the direction of Wayne Price, (of Haines, Alaska) and erected on the banks of the Yukon River, in downtown Whitehorse.

A sombre example of the Northern Musk Ox, (Ovibus Moschatus) which can trace its ancestry in these parts back 90,000 years!
