Integrated Carpentry Tutorials is proud to welcome our new Instructor, Dan Jude who started with ICT in March of 2016.
Dan is a Journeyman Red Seal Certified Carpenter with 19+ years’ experience in the trade, coupled with 3.5 years’ experience teaching Carpentry at the Community College level.
In 2009 Dan had the opportunity to instruct the Industry Training Authority (ITA) RCFT (Residential Construction Framing Technician) Course for Discovery Community College on Vancouver Island, B.C.
He soon found himself offered the chance to instruct two Residential Construction Framing Technician (RCFT) courses for the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation in Ahousat, B.C. on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Both of these courses were very successful in the percentage of students that passed the DCC course, but more importantly, all the students that passed the ITA RCFT exam.
This success was attributed in large part to how Dan had tailored the RCFT curriculum specifically for First Nations. He was able to instruct in such a way that he gained their respect and trust which influenced their ability to succeed in passing an exam that was tailored to the general population in Canada and not to First Nations.
This was no small feat and is a testament to Dan’s commitment to both his students, and his passion for teaching.
